Nutraceutical - Pharmaceutical
Nutraceuticals are products, which other than nutrition are also used as medicine. Nutraceuticals may be used to improve health, delay the aging process, prevent chronic diseases, increase life expectancy, or support the structure or function of the body.
Blending Process #
Blending is a process which mixes the API and excipients to ensure there is a homogeneous mixture of the all ingredients for each manufacturing process. Blending is a process that can be carried out numerous times within a manufacturing process when new excipients need to be added to the blend.
Centrifugation Process #
Centrifugation is a process that involves the use of the centrifugal force for the separation of mixtures, used in industry and in laboratory settings. The rate of centrifugation is specified by the acceleration applied to the sample, typically measured in revolutions per minute (RPM).
Distillation Process #
Distillation is the process of separating the components or substances from a liquid mixture by selective boiling and condensation to increase the concentration of selected components of the mixture.
Fermentation Process #
Fermentation is a process used for cultivating micro-organisms or other organic material into important pharmaceuticals such as antibiotics, therapeutic proteins, enzymes and insulin.
Filling Process #
User demand for friendlier delivery systems, smaller doses and less waste. Ensuring sterility is essential and the key factors (in filling) are product quality and safety. As a result, equipment vendors are incorporating features into their equipment, designed to reduce the risk of any contaminants entering the process.
Granulation Process #
Granulation, the process of particle enlargement by agglomeration technique, is one of the most significant unit operations in the production of pharmaceutical dosage forms, mostly tablets and capsules. Granulation process transforms fine powders into free-flowing, dust-free granules that are easy to compress.
Handling Process #
Material Handling also known as Conveying is typically a process of transfering raw materials to be processed. As the lifeblood of your company, how your processing line functions has a direct bearing on your bottom line. The success of an entire processing line can depend on the performance and reliability of its material handling systems.
Mixing Process #
Mixing is an important part of pharmaceutical production. Operations can include dissolving solids and powders, preparing emulsions, combining raw materials, enabling chemical reactions, and milling active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), to name a few.
Packaging Process #
Once dosage form is in its final form, it must be properly packaged for distribution. Packaging can also come in different forms which determines how products are handled.
Tablet Coating Process #
One of the final steps in the OSD manufacturing process is tablet coating. After a core tablet has been compressed, a film or functional coat is applied to the tablet. This improves the taste and makes the tablet easier to swallow. A functional coating is also common. This is an additional active ingredient applied to the outside of the tablet.
